Although I love winter (skiing is my favourite sport and I am lucky enough to live near to the mountains), this year I really am looking forward to spring. I can’t wait to see a fresh burst of colour in the landscape and feel an early warmth in the air.
Of course, Spring is a time of unpredictable weather, and those sudden cold snaps mean we need to mix our winter wardrobe with new spring pieces to stay comfortable. Here are a few tips on incorporating the latest trends into your winter wardrobe to help you shake off winter while staying warm!
One of the big trends for Spring 2020 is for neon brights, a serious slap of colour after winter’s muted tones! My personal view: less is more, so I wont be going for head to toe fluoro lime. I do see a neon top or scarf as an ideal way to carry my winter coat through to spring, though. This lovely example from themomedit.com is exactly what I have in mind:
or I will be sporting a fab maxi scarf like this one:
Mixing brights and softer spring colours into your winter wardrobe is a great way to lift it and gently ease yourself towards summer. Accessories are ideal – swap your handbag for a spring colour:

Crochet is another gorgeous trend that not only looks fab, it celebrates the idea of slow fashion, the antidote to fast ‘throwaway’ fashion. Its definitely worth investing some time in tracking down a bit of vintage crochet, such as this handcrafted crochet wrap in perfect condition, and only €15 from BonbonVintage Paris:
Bump-friendly options include cropped tops, such as this one from Blumarine,
which can be layered over a long-line vest or tee, or worn with an over-the-bump pencil skirt such as our London Pencil skirt:
